Speaker:   Rajendrakumar Saraf
Topic:   UPCYCLING workshop to preserve and conserve resources with the aim and objective to develop capacity and leadership qualities in Indian students for sustainable living.

Topic:  Upcycling is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products perceived to be of greater quality, such as artistic, commercial or environmental value. It reforms and refurnishes waste for another use. It converts waste into value-added products to save resources.   Upcycling is a part of Indian culture, e.g. rice leftover in the dinner becomes fried rice for breakfast. Upcycling involves creativity coupled with a scientific attitude.  Making Godhadi (blanket) from Sari is a well-established business activity. Students can do upcycling activities to earn money, save resources and protect the environment. It will also develop the leadership qualities required to achieve sustainable development.
